YPDianaMaeF: “What’s a Modern Man Without a Modern Woman?”

Good morning YP’s, and Happy Monday! It is our pleasure to introduce YPDianaMaeF, with her first of hopefully many blogs to YPBlogspot! She would like to share her insightful thoughts regarding a modern woman, healthy relationships, and diversity with YP’s everywhere. Enjoy the great read, and make it a great, productive day!

“What’s a Modern Man Without a Modern Woman?”

The very elusive saying, “Behind a good man, there’s a successful woman.” YPs, don’t you know it! In this day and age, women have certainly made milestone leaps in achievement. We’ve emerged from playing the roles of the wife, mother, and family caretaker. It’s evident this movement enables us to juggle both a successful career while maintaining a supportive family. No one said it would easy, but the modern women has certainly been keeping up to par with the opposite sex. This goes for all aspects in life: career, sports, politics, & education. The Modern Woman no longer feels that their only potential could be within the household. During this Oscar season, it’s reminiscent to say the supportive & leading roles are interchangeable in relationships.

Personally, I don’t believe in glass ceilings, although some may still suggest this is a “man’s world.” Women today are without doubt a different breed than those of previous generations. Besides the necessity of having two incomes to support a household, women are more career-minded. There are more opportunities in the work place, and the competitive fire is adamant! It takes a very secure and confident man to be with this type of resolute woman. Let’s face it, as a child growing up any alpha-male would hate losing to a girl. Rather than having bitterness towards it, let’s use that defeat to challenge each other. Besides, I’m sure competition is intriguing to you men. By challenging one another equally, we’re able to build upon a healthy relationship. This would keep inspiration operative & refreshing.

Across the board, women have made great strides in the business world. Success to us means more than making our target goals and how much income we can generate within a fiscal year. It means being able to put our intensity into overdrive. We aren’t money-hungry; we are passion-driven. Globally, business has opened more doors for women and we use our natural instincts to guide us successfully. By being more sensitive to others’ needs, we’re readily able to meet the demands of consumers. In the 1950’s, it was very well defined of what the “Good Wife” requirements were. I accredit the modern women of today used that sense of catering and applying it to corporate America. Currently, women’s influence in society is outstanding, and not to be overlooked.

Take for instance even this blogsite, Youngprofessionals – this isn’t catered just for men. It’s for both sexes, all races, backgrounds & walks of life. It’s crucial for our generation to keep on embracing diversity. Who would have guessed that we would live to see the day a Black President rules the Free World- or in this case, a woman in the running for Presidency?! As a human race, we have definitely made substantial breakthroughs. As YP’s in the Modern world, let’s continue to embrace diversity & remain supportive of each other.
