What Is Life Really About???
During the past couple months, I feel like I’ve learned so much about life and what really matters in it. I have spent a lot of time with my family, talking, and have never seen so clearly what life is about. During this time of reflecting I have seen what is truly important, and what really doesn’t have any substance. By no means is this the opinion of all of the other YP’s. In the same breathe, I am still learning so much about life, and have yet to master anything, I am just doing my best to move in the right direction, not just for myself, but for those that surround me.
Building a strong foundation with my family is so important to me as I stand here today. Even though family was very near and dear to my heart before, I have gained a whole new level of love for my family. For me, they have been there through the roughest times in my life, and continue to support me, with every achievement and setback. Life is truly about family, and appreciating every moment with them.
When people spoke of integrity before, I thought I understood what they meant. I have gained a new found perspective on integrity. I have learned that it is not just about what you say, and do sometimes, but being consistent in your efforts, and your approach to life all of time. If you are honest with one self, then no one can ever doubt who you are as a person. Being respected by your actions, and who you are is the ultimate measure of a person, not the fancy cars, clothes or jewelry.
Friends are there for you to lift you up, and take you away from thinking way too much. They are consistent, and even if you are down in the dumps, they are still there cracking jokes, and making you feel as if things are going to be ok, even when you can’t see it. Friends, are an escape where you can bounce ideas off of, because they understand, and know what you are going through. Friends are very much needed in life, and I am grateful for them, because for me these relationships are priceless.
Acts of kindness toward our mates, children, parents, and other relatives bring deep satisfaction. (Prov. 3:27) I have learned that when helping others, you help yourself in the process. Life is not about taking all that you can, but it is also important to give, even if you can’t see the return. Giving to others, whether it is knowledge, kindness, a listening ear, time, can have a great affect on others, and yourself as well. So give more than you take, and you will see the rewards tenfold.
Life is truly about appreciating the simple joys in it, and I have learned to not think too far into the future. Every moment is precious, and rather than thinking that I will feel better in a week, month, or year from now, make it a priority to feel good today! Wear your good shoes, and put on that nice shirt, because we do not know what is going to happen tomorrow. Examples of appreciating life joys can be a breathtaking sunset, a majestic landscape, time with loves one, or simply enjoying a good meal or a drink . Today is important, and I am learning to appreciate what I do have instead of dwelling on what I don’t.
I believe having a peace of mind is so underrated nowadays. People wish they had this or that, and chase after things by any means necessary, even if means sacrificing who they are, and what they represent. Living a lavish lifestyle and life in the fast lane, might be enticing, but it is very important to have a peace of mind when you lay down to sleep at night. If we do the best we can in the moment, then we need not worry about anything else. When you have a peace of mind, you are able to sleep well at night without any worries, and that is such a great feeling to have. Again, YP’s these are just thoughts that I wanted to share, I am still striving to do and become better each and every day; walk with me on my journey….

Deep thoughts brother. I have been going through a lot of tribulation myself, but at the end of the day, I know that I’m at peace when I come home to my family. STAY HUNGRY PLAYA!!!
First of all, I think you are wise beyond your years. For you to have such a deep understanding of the important values at this age is impeccable and gives me great respect for you. I think so many ppl spend too much time trying to find the key to happiness… what is happiness.. what is life.. when in fact.. the key is inside of you…. You have a very good support system and that means you are very rich and lucky.
I enjoyed everything I you wrote. Yes pay things forward and never look for anything in return. Also focus on the “right” now instead of tomorrow. Let tomorrow take care of itself. I’m truly inspired by this reading. Good Look YP’s….
Do you plan to keep this site updated? I sure hope so… its great!
