YPJimH: What am I thankful for? Even though I do not have 1,000,000 dollars in my banking account, or not driving the latest luxury car, have a little more downtime than I would like, I consider myself a lucky man. I am thankful to have a job that helps youth, and gives back to the community that helped made me who I am today. I am thankful to have a place that I can call my own. I am thankful for being able to buy food anytime I would like. That’s big for me, because, for those that know me, they know I am a fat boy at heart…lol. After my injury back in June, I am thankful to be able to walk again. I am thankful every day I am on this earth, because I know at anytime, it can be taken away from me. I am thankful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and to be a better person every day. I am thankful for second chances, and forgiveness.
Most importantly, I am thankful for the wonderful support system that surrounds me. It is not the biggest of circles, but these people are truly my “riders”. They are always there to let me know when I am wrong, but at the same time, to pick me up when I am at my lowest. “We find comfort among those who agree with us, and growth among those who don’t”. They are the people I confide in, the people that tell me “you got it” when I go on a job interview, or tells me “I always believe in you” when I accomplish a goal of mine. They are my heart, and I will love my support system through thick and thin, and that is what I am most thankful for on this Thanksgiving 2009.

YPRichB: What am I thankful for? Usually when Turkey Day approaches I’m usually crazy excited to eat some of my favorite foods in the world (mac & cheese, collard greens, ham, sweet potatoes etc) but this is probably the first time I really sat down and thought about what I’m thankful for. First and foremost I’m thankful that I am alive and well because everyday above ground is a good one. In these trying times I’m thankful that I have a roof over my head and a job that I report to 5 days out of the week. I’m truly thankful for my wonderful parents and the continuous support they have given me over the years. I’m thankful for my brother and sister who have always been there for me as well.
I always joke with my friends about getting older but I’m thankful that I’m still good friends with the same group of people I’ve been hanging with since I was 13. I really look at my friends as brothers and I’m thankful that we’re still rolling as a unit. Not too many people can say that they’re still friends with people they grew up with so that’s definitely something I appreciate. Lastly, I’m thankful for every day I’m here on this earth with the opportunity to pursue my happiness.

YPDSing: What am I thankful for? I am thankful for being alive and well. I am thankful for my family doing well on all accounts. I am thankful for my inner circle that somehow has remained in tact for many years. I am thankful that our YPBlogSpot website is receiving such a great response from the public. I am thankful that with all of the craziness in the world, the people that I love and care for have been able to avoid most of it. I am also thankful for the ridiculous amounts of food that I am going to consume on Thanksgiving day!!!! LOL
What I am most thankful for however, is for GOD allowing me to get through some of the toughest times of my life, within these past 2-3 years. Within that time frame, there were times that I just felt hopeless, helpless and unmotivated. There were times that I felt there would never be a light seen at the end of the tunnel. Somehow someway, I have been able to fight through the hard times and prevail over them. I’ve realized that there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s on me to decide if I want to close my eyes so that I cannot see it at times. So I am thankful for the fight, determination and the optimism that GOD has put inside of me, that wouldn’t let me give up. I am thankful for my support system, that has always tried to pick me up when I seemed down. I am thankful that I am not at the top of the ladder yet, so that I can prove too myself that I have what it takes to get there, on my time.
YPRuck: What am I thankful for? I am thankful for just being able to wake up in my right mind and for making bad decisions and learning from them and making a better decision the next time around. I am thankful spiritual foundation that my parents have instilled in me at a young age that has molded me into the man that I am today. I thankful that God has kept me for 26 years and counting and has always been there when I thought I didn’t need him and definitely when I did need him. I’m thankful for being employed and able to pay bills in this recession we’re in. I’m thankful for my circle of friends who have been making me laugh, there for me when I need to vent, and just there when we talking about nothing or about our goals and dreams that we will achieve. I’m thankful for YPBlogSpot as well and am excited about what the future holds for YPs. I’m also thankful for the good people I have met in Richmond the past year and half that have impacted my life in a positive way.
I think I’m most thankful for my mom, who has been in my corner from day 1. She’s my inspiration, my counselor, my biggest fan and supporter, and she always seems to know exactly what I need or need to hear. I’m thankful for my future wife to be and for being there for me through thick and thin and for her family (whom I love) that have treated me as family as well. I’m also thankful for my both of my grandmas, the one that I lost this past spring and the one in the picture that is still alive and doing well. I’m also really thankful for God giving me the will and determination to do the right thing regardless how bad things were the past few years. I’m thankful for not easily being broken and being confident that I will be successful. Last but not least, I’m thankful for God’s favor and the opportunity to continue to improve as an individual, professional, entrepreneur, and man. So YPs, regardless of what you’re going through, there is always something to be thankful for, Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you to all of you out there who read our words and really get something out of them. YPs Stand Up!!!!
