“Things could be a lot worse…”

VS

“Things could be a lot better…”

YPs we’ve all had our bad times where things aren’t going well and we or someone says, “Things could be worse,” then we nod our head in agreement.  I begin to ponder on that quote and realized how loosely we use this quote people.  Now don’t get me wrong, this quote is so true to an extent.  But in order to be GREAT I’ve adopted, “Things could be a lot better…” and I’ll tell you why.  One of my pet peeves is a guy or girl that attempts to gain favor with a potential mate by pointing out flaws of their competition.  In this case, competition is that other guy or girl interested in the same potential mate.  I understand that as with any competition someone always wants to gain the upper hand but I prefer someone to gain favor on their own merit and not by someone else flaws and/or faults.  I like to gain favor by what I can do, my attributes and personality not because I pointed out the flaws and/or faults of the next man or woman.  And honestly, if you are indeed the best man or woman for that mate then your attributes will outshineyour competition and you end up the victor anyway.  Now back to my original point.

YPs some of us attempt to do the same thing to make ourselves feel better instead of actually doing something to make us feel better.  Meaning, whenever we’re going through a setback or difficult time we tend to seek out someone doing a lot worse than us and we say, “Things could be a lot worse…,” then we feel better.  Why do we feel better because someone else is worse off than us?  A loss is a loss YPs, just because you may lose by 5 points and the next man or woman losses by 20, guess what you both lost.  I think instead of attempting to boost our self esteem through someone else bad luck, I suggest we attempt to do something to change our situation which will boost our self esteem on our own merit.  At the end of the day, your situation is still bad.  Remember YPs what the next man or woman eats doesn’t make you sh*t nor does their situation change your situation.  And with that said, YPs let’s uplift ourselves on our own merit.  In addition, help someone that may be in a worse situation than yourself.  Be you, love you, and be Successful YPs!!!
