Week 3 of the NFL is in the books and some teams have found some consistency while others are consistent with their inconsistency after 3 weeks of football. I really don’t know what to make of my New York “Football” Giants but Michael and the Vickadelphia Eagles look scary good offensively. There are now 3 teams remaining unbeaten, the Steelers, Chiefs and Bears. With that said, checkout my take on week 3 in the NFL.
Titans vs Giants: If you look at the numbers for each team in this game you would of assume the Giants won this game but that was not the case. Giants lost 29-10 and out gained the Titans by more than 200 yards because of critical turnovers in the red zone Sunday. The Titans capitalized on everyone of the Giants mistakes and ran away with this game. Eli Manning attempted to make a Favre-ish left handed pass in with the Giants in scoring position that was tipped up in the air and intercepted. I know the Giants are my team but this is a classic case of a team beating themselves. I really don’t know what to expect from the Giants but Coughlin may be on his way to increasing the economy’s unemployment rate if the Giants don’t get it together. Titans Chris Johnson ran for over 100 yards and 2 TDs thanks to the Giants mistakes and poor defense. Vince Young’s numbers weren’t impressive but he did what he does and got the win.
Bengals vs Panthers: If the Panthers just had a reliable QB they may be an okay team but Jimmy Clausen started his first game as a pro and played just as good as Carson Palmer did. I’m starting to think Palmer is never going to live up to the QB everyone expects him to be because his play has been sub par all year. He has a run game, 2 great receivers and a young stud at tight end but has yet to put together a great game statistically. I’ll give him a pass because there was bad weather this Sunday which affected some of his throws. Bengals will be good this year but they’ll only go as far as Palmer can take them so he needs to step up his game and show some consistency. Panthers look like sh*t and seem to not even be capable of running the ball effectively thus far this season. Rumors are spreading that Pro Bowl receiver Steve Smith will seek a trade by the trade deadline so continue to monitor his status as the deadline approaches. Bengals when will Batman aka T.O. have his coming out party?
Steelers vs Buccaneers: 45 year old Charlie Batch exposed the previously undefeated fraud Bucs on Sunday with a surprising performance. Steelers ran away with this game even with a slow start. The Steelers defense took advantage [click to continue…]

In week 2 of the young NFL season some teams made adjustments to get back on track while others received reality checks. My Giants were killed in the “Manning Bowl” and I didn’t do to well in my fantasy leagues thanks to Michael Turner’s groin injury but the season is young. Nonetheless, here is my take/commentary on week 2 in the NFL. Leave your comments and thoughts regarding week 2 in the NFL young season.
Bills vs Packers: No surprise here with the Packers smacking the Bills 34-7. This game was one sided even though Packers seemed to get off to a slow start and Aaron Rodgers has yet to hit on all cylinders. Bills are who we thought they were and I see no light the end of the tunnel. Packers get their first test next week against the surprisingly 2-0 Bears but I think Rodgers will have a big game.
Dolphins vs Vikings: Let me begin by saying, “This is the interception throwing Brett Favre we all know & love”! I am probably not the only football fan annoyed by Favre’s indecisiveness for the past 5 seasons regarding his retirement but I think not attending camp this year is going to leave a hell of a bite mark. Favre turned the ball over 4 times including 3 interceptions & a fumble and the Vikings still had an opportunity to win because of “AP All Day” big runs late in the game. But let’s not give Favre all of the credit because the Dolphins’ defense kept him under pressure and stopped AP on a big 4th & goal stop. Chad Henne has yet to get that offense going but Dolphins are a solid hard nose Bill Parcells team so they’ll continue to be competitive. If Henne takes that next step in his development as a QB then the Dolphins may make a little noise in the AFC East.
Chiefs vs Browns: Chiefs follow their impressive win over the Chargers with a not so impressive win over the [click to continue…]

If you follow me on twitter via @YPRuck then you’ve probably seen a tweet or two regarding my Achilles being sore for the past couple of months after I play basketball. I figured a new pair of basketball sneakers would help alleviate the soreness in my Achilles but I was wrong and contemplating resting until I talked to Mom Dukes. No, my mother is not a doctor by any means but she believes that injuries are a lot deeper than my Achilles being sore because of a couple of games of basketball. To further clarify, Mom Dukes believes that different injuries correlate with certain things going on within one’s life.
For instance, my Achilles heels connects my foot to my lower legs and I walk with my feet and legs. Right now I’m at a point in my life where I’m at sort of a crossroads. I’m basically trying to figure out how I can set my wife and I [click to continue…]

The first week of the NFL season is in the books which has left 16 teams wins and 16 teams with losses in addition to happy and upset fans. I’m happy with the play of my New York “Football” Giants and I did pretty well in my fantasy leagues but I wanted to share what I thought was discovered after a week of NFL regular season games. Checkout my commentary regarding every game played this weekend. I love this time of the year. Be sure to leave your thoughts/comments regardng the first week of the NFL season.
Saints vs Vikings:I was definitely expecting Drew Brees and the defending Super Bowl champs to put up big numbers against the Vikings but the Vikings lack of production was no surprise. Favre apparently has only one [click to continue…]
