Successville

YPs GET MOVING!!!  I am currently working on my moving and shaking skills so I can leave the population of people of non-movers.  I love to see others be successful and am actually inspired by their success but its time to create my own success story for others to read and be inspired.  I stole this except/quote from an article @YPDSing  posted in our LinkedIn group and figured I’d share with you guys.  YPs make sure you are in the third class, the “those that move” class.

YPs, I know we are all on the same journey to Successville.  Sometimes however, we let weakness inside of ourselves and slow our progress down.  The weaknesses I’m talking about are EXCUSES.  We have all made them and unfortunately, are not done making them.  We need to identify our excuses and rid ourselves of them.  Excuses are the reasons that more people aren’t being classified as great.  An excuse will alter a timeline.  It will prevent a goal being reached.  It will cause a lack of motivation.  Yps we need to treat excuses like the plague and quarantine or get rid of them.  I put together a list of excuses that I have either used or heard, and I am working to get rid of them.  Read through the list and see if you are guilty and if you are, work to get rid of them with me.  If you don’t see one that you are guilty of but you have one that you know fits you, PLEASE ADD IT IN THE COMMENT SECTION!  Excuses are holding us back from being successful at work, at love, and at life, in general.  Meet me at Successville, NO EXCUSES!!!

…I didn’t think my work was good enough

…I didn’t want to be disappointed

…I forgot that I was supposed to do it

…I didn’t feel like doing anything, once I got off of work

…My favorite show was on

…I fell asleep

…You didn’t finish your part, so I figured I had more time

…Nobody expected me to do it anyway

…I lost my focus

…Someone already thought of a similar idea

…People like us never get a break

…Somebody else will do it

…It’s too much work

…I failed at other ventures in the past, will probably fail again

…Nobody wants to support me on my idea

…My girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband won’t let me focus

…I don’t have the heart to ‘jump out the window’

…I’ll do it if you do it with me

…I have to wait until I’m in a better place mentally/financially/etc.

…I just didn’t want to

YPs Stand Up!!!

Shavonne DeAnn decided she wanted to make the side walks of NYC her runway in one of the fashion worlds biggest weeks aka New York Fashion Week 2010.  Bold moves like this made by Miss DeAnn is an indication that she’s American Dreaming and will be successful sooner than later in the fashion world.  YPs take notes and take your success in your own hands by creating your own opportunities and positioning yourself to “Be Great”!  Kudos Shavonne!!!  Best Wishes, Blessings and Much Success!!!

“Success doesn’t make the person, the person makes the success. Whatever you get in life, be proud of it.”

I was reading an interview featuring Bernard Hopkins, who is gearing up to fight Roy Jones Jr this Saturday April 3rd, and towards the end of the interview he said the above quote.  I’m not sure if he’s the orignator of the quote but his words definitely struck a chord with me.  Too often people look for success and/or material things to define them.  Instead of focusing on the end result of success, focus on what’s important to you.  Success is a byproduct or your hard work and dedication.  When you strive for your goals and put in the necessary work success is the end result.  There are different levels of success but, at the end of the day who you are should not be affected by the level you reach.

Good Quote From Booker T. Washington

February 5, 2010

“Success in life is founded upon attention to the small things rather than to the large things; to the every day things nearest to us rather than to the things that are remote and uncommon.”           If you pay attention or listen to a successful individual or individuals, you will probably notice that they pay [...]
