“Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.”
Recently I got a chance to lead a meeting, and to be honest, it did not turn out the way I expected it to. I did my best, and I continued on even though it was an uncomfortable situation for me. After the meeting was over, I was hard on myself because the meeting didn’t go as I hoped. But when I really thought about it, I came to the conclusion that this was a learning experience, and the next time, I will be better prepared if the situation occurred again. The most important aspect I believe is not the mistake itself, it is letting that mistake impede me from leading a meeting again. I am totally confident if given another opportunity I will be that much better. Success is all about falling and getting up YP’s, let’s not our failures deter us from reaching our Successville! We all live and learn!

So you’re a high school junior or senior looking to join the college ranks in a year or so. If you are like most 17/18 year olds then you probably have little idea of what you want to do with your lives but you do know college is necessary. You want that “college experience”, you know the parties, random sex partners, freedom to do what you want when you want while juggling a full 12-15 credits course load. The aforementioned is all good and dandy but who’s going to pay for your “college experience”? A lot of parents and college students brush the costs associated with college under the rug or have a “I’ll worry about it post graduation,” attitude. This is probably the wrong attitude to have regarding college costs.
Today’s economy is full of employed and unemployed college educated graduates with mounds of student loan debt because we all assume we’ll go to college, get a good paying job and pay off our student loan debt with no hiccups. This is the “American Scheme (I mean Dream)” uninformed college students have been sold but this is not how things in the real world function as many have come to realize. Now it’s time to be smart about college and replace assumptions with sound game plans.
1. Seek out scholarships: There are a plethora of scholarships for undergraduate students if you do your research you will find organizations, companies, programs willing to assist you with your educational expenses.
2. Go to a credible community college: Take courses that transfer to a four year state school. This will cut your college costs an half because community college [click to continue…]

YPs, I have more than likely touched on this subject in the past, but it is only because I think that it is important. It seems that everyone is so caught up in ‘You Only Live Once’, ‘Tomorrow Is Not Promised’, and every other catchy phrase that you can think of. People are not realizing the consequences of their ‘Careless’ actions. I am all about ‘Living Life To The Fullest’ and ‘Not Taking Life For Granted’ however, you do have to be mindful of the things that you want for TOMORROW, as well.
T0day, with the internet and all of the other technologies that we have, it is very easy to be monitored. People, for various reasons, are always evaluating you. Employers do not hire people without doing their research. People do not pick ‘lifetime partners’ without seeing what the person is about. All I am saying is that, sometimes you should not be so surprised when you do not get the j0b, or fired later on. Sometimes you should not be surprised when that woman/man decides not to talk to you, or even leave you after being with you for years. The evaluation process never stops. The things you say ARE held against you and the things you DO hold even more weight.
The next time you tweet about ‘Making A Poor Life Decision’ or you do things that you know your mate is not in favor of, just be ready for what may happen next. If you REALLY do not care and are not one of those people who just SAY they do not care, then go ahead and do what you have to do. However, if you do care about tomorrow, you should make an effort to be more mindful of the things you say and more mindful of what you do. Your decisions directly effect you and your life, act like you know that to be true!
