YPs when I first got Alicia Keys’ latest album The Element of Freedom this song was my favorite. This is a song written by Drake and you can hear his vocals in the background a little bit during the song as well. I also believe this is Ms. Keys’ latest single and the video, well features the beautiful Ms. Keys of course which is always a pleasant site. Great song, Alicia Keys so what more can you ask for. Anyway, enjoy YPs and do the un-thinkable when you’re ready. (LoL)
Chris Brown decided to serve something up for ladies this past Valentine’s Day with his new mixtape “In My Zone” hosted by DJ Drama and DJ Sense. Despite all the drama surrounding him, he still is a really talented singer and performer and I hope he can bounce back. With that said check out a few song below and download the mixtape as well.
YPRuck: Good Monday morning YPs! The east coast was hit with one of its biggest snow storms in a while this past weekend with various areas getting between 15 – 23 inches of snow which left a lot of people in the house this weekend. I went out Friday to pick up a few things from the grocery store/Walmart and didn’t leave my apartment until this morning for work. I watched football and movies all weekend and relaxed with my significant other. But anyway, this is one of my favorite Christmas songs of all time and how fitting after a weekend full of snow! I hope every one was safe this weekend and enjoyed the snow one way or another so enjoy this musical selection on behalf of Boyz II Men & Brian McKnight. Have a great Monday YPs and Merry Christmas to all!
R. Kelly just released his latest album “Untitled” last week and I’ve been playing the album non-stop. I gotta admit I fell off the R. Kelly band wagon for a little bit but he’s definitely redeemed himself on this new album. I think this song in particular has huge potential to be another hit. Check out “Elsewhere” by R. Kelly and let us know what you think.
YPRichB: I recently gave Mario’s newest album “DNA” another listen and it’s definitely worth your time people. Check out what I think will be the next single off the album “Before I Said Hi” featuring Big Sean. The YPs are huge Big Sean fans so mark my words when I say he’s next up. He’s signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label and should be dropping his debut album “Finally Famous” in 2010. Peep the song and let us know what you think in the comment section.
“I was made to live young and reckless/ but since I saw you I’m trying to find where my breath is/…and already feel gone, and it ain’t cuz what i’m sippin on/ I seen you in my dreamgirls right next to B/ you a dream girl, Christina Milian”
YPRuck: This is an old school feel good Friday joint “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe for you ladies and gents to enjoy! Classic! Classic! Classic! I see y’all dancing in your cubicles right not as you watch this video. Have a great weekend YP’s!
YPRuck: The first two singles/videos off of Corinne Bailey Rae’s debut self titled album Corinne Bailey Rae that was released in 2006. This is one of my favorite albums and one of those albums that you can put on from track 1 and just let it play because this is good music at its best so enjoy and get the album if you haven’t already.
Happy Friday YP’s! It’s the start of the weekend for most, and it’s time to unwind and relax. Here is a throwback classic from Lucy Pearl, that makes you want to dance and just take a load off. I remember a good feeling every time this song came on. Enjoy the video, and enjoy your weekend.
I have to admit I wasn’t really a big Alicia Keys fan until the past year or so. I’ve always recognized her talent but her albums as a whole never really blew me away until her most recent album “As I Am” came out. In any event, she’s definitely mastered the art of the first single as this song sounds like another hit. Check out Alicia Keys performing her first single, “Doesn’t Mean Anything” off her new album due in December.
YPRuck: This is one of my all-time favorite songs. It’s by Dionne Farris and it’s called “Hopeless” off of the Love Jones soundtrack and this is the song you hear at the very beginning of the movie. This is a feel good joint that you can’t help but love. Enjoy YP’s and have a productive R&B Wednesday.
YPRuck: L Boogie and what do I have to say! One of my favorite Lauryn Hill tracks; another one of those feel good tracks in which Lauryn puts both her vocalist and lyricist talents on display while sharing a good message with the listeners. “Everything is Everything” YP’s! Happy Friday!
YPRuck: It’s Keri Baby! I luv me some Keri Hilson and this is one of my favorite cuts off her debut album “In a Perfect World…” so enjoy the song and video. Damn, Keri keep doing your thing miss!
YPJimH says: This is a song has a real smooth sound to it, that just makes you feel good inside, and just groove. I’ve definitely rode out to this song on many occasions, windows down, sun shinning, singing along. This song has a R Kelly feel to it, before he went auto tune crazy. Enjoy the R & B joint, and enjoy your day!
This is a remake of a classic song that sounds pretty good. What do you ladies and gents think? Good remake or bad remake? Surprisingly, I think it’s a pretty good remake minus the end of the song/video. But overall, this is a pretty good remake by J Tait who I don’t know too much about outside of his affiliation with Dwele who is one of my favorite artists. Dwele also directed and shot the video which isn’t too bad so check it out and share your thoughts and comments.
I went back to revisit the Jeremih album and I’ve found myself playing this song more and more. His debut album is definitely worth checking out. Here’s “My Sunshine” off his self-titled debut album.
