I participated in my first fantasy football league last year and I loved it so much that I’m in three fantasy leagues this year. The NFL is probably the most watched major league sport and is definitely my favorite major league sport to watch. My favorite football team is the New York “Football” Giants and I love my team and think we will win our second Super Bowl in three years even after the thumping we took last week to the New Orleans Saints.
This isn’t about my favorite team but about fantasy football and how more addictive it has made me to watching Read more »
Are you ready for some football! It’s that time of the year already YP’s, another NFL season is about to kick off and I’m excited about it along with all my friends and football fans around the world! Especially, being a New York “Football” Giants fan along with YPJimH because Jim and I believe the G-Men have a great shot at winning their second Super Bowl in three years. YPRichB is a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan and just like any fan he believes the Eagles have a shot at winning their first ever Super Bowl but I guess we all have to stay tuned to see how the 2009 NFL season pans out. YPDSing was division I football player that just loves the game and does not have a favorite team. A couple of our friends are Dallas Cowboys fans and Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans so you can imagine the endless trash talking that takes place between all of us via text messages, phone calls and any other forms of communication. Fantasy football has made our debates even worse because we all think we are all experts and the trash talk gets pretty intense but it’s all in the sport of competition and fun. So let the games begin! Go Big Blue!
YP Rich B: A few weeks ago we posted a blog about Michael Vick’s reinstatement into the NFL and the conditions behind it. Well it looks like Vick will get an opportunity to revive his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. I’m a huge Eagles fan and I was a bit shocked by the move only because he doesn’t fill an immeadiate need. At the same time, he was a huge playmaker on the field and I’m happy to see Vick get an opportunity to right his wrongs and get back to playing football (whether as a quarterback or another position). I’m anxious to see how the Eagles plan on using him on the field. Hopefully people will give him the opportunity to try and get his life back on track. The article below sheds some light on the Vick signing:
The tale of Michael Vick has taken more twists and turns than one of his pinball-like touchdown runs. This may be the biggest one yet.
The embattled Vick has signed a one-year deal with an option for a second year with the Philadelphia Eagles, a team previously thought to have no interest in him.
Philadelphia was barely mentioned when the so-called experts spoke of possible destinations for Vick, making his signing a big surprise in NFL circles. At first it was thought that he would go some place he could immediately contribute (like, say, San Francisco), but in recent weeks the speculation focused on teams with established quarterbacks and a strong front office. And though the Eagles fit that description, they weren’t among the destinations bandied about by analysts. (New England and, most recently, Pittsburgh were the rumored landing spots.) Read more »
I’m happy that Roger Goodell has conditionally reinstated Michael Vick but my question is. What is the conditional part for? From my understanding, Vick has paid his debt to society by serving his 23 month sentence and he will also be on probation for a 3 year time period that will restrict Vick’s life in more than one way. He will probably be subjected to drug tests, travel restrictions, obligated to perform community service as well as report to a probation officer regularly. But the commissioner of the NFL feels that isn’t enough and that he needs to impose his own probationary period for Vick to adhere to as if Vick does decide to step out of line, it won’t be the NFL that he has to worry about it will the U.S. judicial system Read more »
Steve McNair’s untimely death has struck the hearts of Tennessean’s and football fans all over.
Toughness. It’s a quality that is not only wanted, but is of the utmost importance in the National Football League. Not many players had more of it than Steve McNair. He played with terrible knees, worn out legs, and even a ruptured sternum. Titans fans became spoiled being able to have a quarterback with such a high tolerance for pain. He was the Superman of the Tennessee Titans franchise. Read more »
