If you are a twitter user and a “follower” of Mr. Kanye West then you are aware that he plans on dropping two albums this year. First the collab album “Watch the Throne” with Jay-Z in 2 months and then a solo album this summer. His last album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” was released on Nov. 22 2010. TWO MONTHS AGO!!! Now i’m not one to complain about music from my favorite artists but this seems like a bit of overkill. While West’s quality in music rarely ever suffers it makes it harder to appreciate his work when it is released so frequently. For goodness sakes I hope one of the most innovative artists of the past few years doesn’t turn into Lil Wayne.

‘I had to hustle, my back to the wall, ashy knuckles…Pockets filled with a lot of lint, not a cent’
YPs, this is one of my favorite lines from Jay Z, in his song Renegade with Eminem off of his Blueprint album. This line reminds me of the ‘fight’ that we must posses inside of us, to make it in this world. A lot of times, the world throws us curve balls that we must adjust to. Things do not always go as planned but that does not mean that we should give up. YPRuck and myself, have had several conversations, regarding this very issue. We always agree that we must be proactive instead of reactive. We should all be working to put ourselves in a position to win from the gate, not to come back from behind. Too many times we find ourselves with our ‘backs against the wall’ before we implement any plan of action. When this happens, we are forced to fight!!!
