One of My Passions: Food

The 1st thought when you read the title of this blog is that I must be a pretty hefty individual, but I consider myself to be in pretty good shape. Nonetheless, I can’t help that one of my greatest passions in life is food. It is a simple joy, but yet it is brings me joy and deep satisfaction.  Just being able to afford it makes me a very wealthy man. Read more »

Letter To Female YoungProfessionals

Dear Female YoungProfessionals:

The role of women has drastically changed throughout the years.  Outside of being a devoted mother and wife, THERE ARE NO ROLES!!!  Women have come a long way in becoming powerful and influential figures in the world.  They now have established themselves amongst the elite in every field.  Women however, do face a lot of scrutiny and must overcome many obstacles, along the way to success.  To be successful, ‘female youngprofessionals’ must make up their minds, to overcome any stereotypes and be prepared to work harder than anyone else.  There will be many doubters along the way.  PAY THEM NO MIND!!!

YPs Friday Challenge

YPs, Stress is a real issue in everyone’s everyday life.  We all have stresses in our lives and some are hard to get rid of.  We will never rid ourselves from all stress, that is unrealistic.  What we can do however, is limit the stresses in our lives by how we handle different situations.  We all know that half the things that we encounter, have little to no real importance, but we still let them affect us in negative ways.  We must condition ourselves to “not sweat the small stuff.”  If it is not life threatening or altering, then let it go.  Do not increase your chances for health defects, over something that will not exist after let it go.

The key is to just enjoy life.  There are stresses that we have that we are not even aware of.  If you make it a point to be happy and have fun, then stress will disappear.  The stresses that you don’t even know about, will began to go away.  The unexplainable aches and pains, headaches, high blood pressure, breathing problems; will all go away.  Think of your life and those around you.  ‘DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY!!!”  YPs Stand Up!!!

“Blessed 2 Have”

Floetry: Blessed 2 Have “Flo’Ology”

Floetry is one of my favorite groups and I really need them to get back together to bless their fans with another album but I want focus on the intro of their second studio album Flo’Ology titled “Blessed 2 Have”.  In this song, Floetry sing and flow about how they’re “Blessed 2 Have” another day to do what they love as well as simple things we take for granted.  Checkout the intro and hook that set the tone for “Blessed 2 Have”:

How you feeling?
Give thanks and breathe it in
Give thanks and breathe it in.
‘Cause we’re blessed.

Good Quote from Elbert Hubbard

“Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.”

- Elbert Hubbard

Happy Friday YP’s!! It’s the beginning of the weekend, and there is alot to be grateful for. I like this quote about life, and not taking it too seriously. Of course there are moments where life can be tough, but at the same breath, take the neccessary time to appreciate the goodness in it. Laugh more, spend time with family and friends, do what you have to do, so you can do what you enjoy. So crack a joke, loosen up, unbutton your shirt, and take a load off when the time is right. Work hard, play hard YP’s!!

Good Quote From Unknown Author

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

 Unknown Author

Towards the end of 2009, I was on an “enjoy life” kick.  Picking back up in 2010, I am on the same thing.  It is important that we make the most of the time that we have here on this planet, with our families and friends.  We cannot slow down the process of aging or get years back.  What we can do however, is enjoy every moment that we have here.  Laughing should happen all day everyday.  We should put forth the effort to be able to see new things in life.  We should all try to visit new places, see new scenery, have our breath taken away by spectacular views.  Family and friends are extremely important, so when you are with yours, focus on having fun and enjoying each other.  Negativity, should have no place to dwell in our hearts this year.  Let us all be as positive as possible and live as much as we can.  YPs Stand Up!!!

The 10 Essential Rules for Slowing Down and Enjoying Life More

enjoy-life

by Leo Babauta

It’s an irony of our modern lives that while technology is continually invented that saves us time, we use that time to do more and more things, and so our lives are more fast-paced and hectic than ever.

Life moves at such a fast pace that it seems to pass us by before we can really enjoy it. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Let’s rebel against a hectic lifestyle and slow down to enjoy life.

A slower-paced life means making time to enjoy your mornings, instead of rushing off to work in a frenzy. It means taking time to enjoy whatever you’re doing, to appreciate the outdoors, to actually focus on whoever you’re talking to or spending time with — instead of always being connected to a Blackberry or iPhone or laptop, instead of always thinking about work tasks and emails. It means single-tasking rather than switching between a multitude of tasks and focusing on none of them.

Slowing down is a conscious choice, and not always an easy one, but it leads to a greater appreciation for life and a greater level of happiness.

Here’s how to do it. Read more »

Good Quote From Ursula K. LeGuin

enjoy-your-journey

”It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”

- Ursula K LeGuin, novelilst

I’m really on this “enjoy life” kick right now.  I think it is so important that everyone stop being so stressed and unhappy and just start being thankful!  We lose people everyday, that will never change.  What we can change, is how we live our lives while we have them.  I encourage everyone to have goals and big aspirations in life.  I also encourage everyone to enjoy their lives while on that road to success.  Don’t get it in your mindset that you have to wait until a certain point in your life before you can enjoy yourself.  Enjoy yourself all day everyday.  Journey long and hard but journey while laughing and loving.  YPs Stand Up!!!

YPs Friday Challenge

chris-henry   1983-2009

Today is a Friday, but today’s challenge is one that I ask everyone to do EVERYDAY!  All I am asking is for everyone to enjoy their lives.  We see time and time again how tomorrow is not promised.  In 2009, we have lost many celebrities and public figures as well as everyday citizens.  There are many issues that we all face on a daily basis within our own lives, but in the big scheme of things, NONE OF IT REALLY MATTERS!  What matters is; family, friends, love, happiness.  We all need to put a bigger focus on the good things life has to offer.  We need less arguments, less crime, less drama, less fighting and more fun and laughter.  I am not asking anyone to ignore their “real life” responsibilities, but I am asking that there be more to your life then just surviving.  Play this game of life to win!  YPs Stand Up!!!

Positive Thinking: Reduce Stress, Enjoy Life More

believe

Positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve your health. Overcome negative self-talk by recognizing it and practicing with some examples provided.

By Mayo Clinic staff

Is your glass half-empty or half-full? How you answer this age-old question about positive thinking may reflect your outlook on life, your attitude toward yourself, and whether you’re optimistic or pessimistic.

In fact, some studies show that these personality traits — optimism and pessimism — can affect many areas of your health and well-being. Positive thinking also is a key part of effective stress management. Positive thinking doesn’t mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life’s less pleasant situations. It just means that you approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. Read more »
