Dress to Impress

YPRuck: Last week YPSueJ made her debut on YPBlogSpot with a classic but stylish Prada shoe for Young Professional men and this week she is back with something for the ladies.  YPSueJ has decided to go with a sandal set to hit stores this spring so ladies make sure your toes are manicured if you decide to slip your feet in these lovely heels.  But enjoy this post by YPSueJ and be sure to checkout her shoe blog “Did You See Her Shoes” and remember to dress to impress from head to toe YPs.

I previously posted these pair of Fendi heels on my blog not too long ago, but I had to re-post them on YPBlogspot. These SIX inch platform heels are sooooooo BAD that they make me want to… PAUSE! Let me keep my thoughts to myself. I’m very sure if I purchased them and decided to walk down South Street in Philly perhaps, I would be bound to have: every man and woman’s attention, a few sore necks, 15 phone numbers, 5 future dates, and a few shopping bags with items that were NOT purchased out of my pocket. I would just be praying all the way, “Please don’t let me fall. Please LORD!”

Fellas you have to admit if your girl had these on, there would be no going out the house! Just make sure you’re using a JIMMY, unless you two are TRYING to have a child! Lol

They’re available at Luisaviaroma for a ‘bank breaking’ $1553.

YPs,

My colleagues and I have shared many of our ideas and feelings as Young Professionals but now we want to hear from you!!! We are looking for you guys and gals to talk about your experiences as Young Professionals in your respective areas of interests and life in general. The blogs are not limited to work experiences so feel free to blog about what’s on your mind. Please submit blogs to our e-mail ypblogspot@yahoo.com and we’ll post it as the YP Guest Blog of the Week. We look forward to your blogs and thanks for the continued support.

This weeks blog of the week is courtesy of fashion enthusiast YPJLiz who currently is working in the fashion industry.

YPJLiz:

Just because you work in a stuffy corporate environment doesn’t mean you have to dress like a corporate drone. Corporate clothes can be extremely boring; Black suits, white button-ups, black shoes…where’s the personality, the flavor?! As much as recruiters tout diverse personalities as an asset to the company, they leave no room for expressing it through your work attire. So in all attempts to not get you fired, sent home for the day, or deemed the office tramp, I have compiled some looks from Michael Kors’ Fall 2009 runway that would work well in the workplace as well as some looks from Rachel Roy strictly for inspiration (please don’t wear your bra exposed at work!).

The Kor’s show featured many sophisticated looks for work and Roy exhibited some of Fall’s hottest trends. From tweeds and leather to neon and nude-colored shoes, there is a lot to be inspired by. Considering these are trends, you should be able to find ‘look-a-likes’ at stores such as NY & Company and The Limited because let’s face it, as much as we Young Professionals aspire to be millionaires, we’re not there yet! So, shop the sales, make sure everything has a proper fit and as always add your personality by accessorizing with jewelry, handbags and the most important accessory of all…confidence.

Your Company’s objective in establishing a formal work dress code is to enable our employees to project the professional image that is in keeping with the needs of our clients and customers to trust us. Because our industry requires the appearance of trusted business professionals and we serve clients at our site on a daily basis, a more formal dress code is necessary for our employees. You must project the image of a trustworthy, knowledgeable business professional for the clients who seek our guidance, input, and professional services.

Formal Dress Code Guidelines

In a formal business environment, the standard of dressing for men and women is a suit, a jacket and pants or a skirt, or a dress paired with appropriate accessories.

Clothing that reveals too much cleavage, your back, your chest, your feet, your stomach or your underwear is not appropriate for a place of business. In our work environment, clothing should be pressed and never wrinkled. Torn, dirty, or frayed clothing is unacceptable. All seams must be finished. Any clothing that has words, terms, or pictures that may be offensive to other employees is unacceptable.
