One of the most anticipated albums of this year finally hit stores yesterday. If you’ve been following the site then you know we’ve been highlighting Drake’s music for some time now. For those who have the album, check out this article by Complex Magazine where they talked to the producers involved in making the album. Here they break down the creation of each song and the stories behind them. I stayed away from the bootlegs and purchased the album yesterday and am pleased with what I heard. Although the expectations were through the roof for Drake, I think he delivered a solid album. Check out the making of the album here:

June 15th is less than a month away and we’ll finally be able to see if the hype is real for Drake. Above is the tracklisting for his debut album with a ton of star-studded features from Alicia Keys to Jay-Z. Below is a new freestyle that I just came across where Drake absolutely goes IN on this track. Take a listen and enjoy while we wait for the album. Happy Friday YPs.
People ask how music is going, I heard it pays/I just came off making 2 million in 30 days
Scared for the first time, everything just clicked/what if I don’t really do the numbers they predict/considering the fact that I’m the one that they just picked/to write a chapter in history, this shit has got me sick…
YPs when I first got Alicia Keys’ latest album The Element of Freedom this song was my favorite. This is a song written by Drake and you can hear his vocals in the background a little bit during the song as well. I also believe this is Ms. Keys’ latest single and the video, well features the beautiful Ms. Keys of course which is always a pleasant site. Great song, Alicia Keys so what more can you ask for. Anyway, enjoy YPs and do the un-thinkable when you’re ready. (LoL)
Robin Thicke returns with his third video off his latest album “Sex Therapy.” Check out “It’s in the morning” featuring Snoop Dogg. This is definitely one of the highlights off the album so enjoy.
We posted “Find Your Love” about a week ago on the site and here is the video for the song. I must say after initially not liking this song, this has easily become one of my favorite songs out right now. Check out the video and enjoy.
Looks like Drake recruited Kanye West to produce his second single “Find Your Love” off of his upcoming Thank Me Later album. This one is another R&B joint from Drake so take a listen and you be the judge on this one.
As followers of the site I know you’ve seen me post plenty of songs/blogs regarding Drake and J. Cole. Like I’ve stated over and over again I’m really huge fans of theirs and I’m really look forward to them putting out some great music for a long time. Today YPRuck hit me with a question that I’ve thought about on my own from time to time: Who is better between the two?? That question is not an easy one to answer and I’m not sure I have the true answer. I will say that I admire both of their catalogs equally. The way I view this debate is the same way I view Jay-Z vs. Nas. Read more »
Drake is arguably the most anticipated Hip-hop act since 50 cent and with his debut album “Thank Me Later” coming out this spring, songs from the project are leaking left and right. “Shut It Down” featuring The-Dream was rumored to be his first single before “Over” came along and “Fall For Your Type” is an unfinished track, possibly written for Jamie Foxx. Either way, Drake does his R&B thing on both tracks so check them out below.
YPRichB: As I’ve shared in the past, I definitely think Drake has a bright future and I look forward to his upcoming debut album “Thank Me Later” dropping this spring. Check out Drake’s interview that he did with ”Complex Magazine” where he talks about a variety of topics including his upcoming album, other up and coming artist (Wale, Kid Cudi, J.Cole), and his relationship with Lil Wayne.

New Money stands out. Take the Twelve Hotel in downtown Atlanta. Everything is modern, angular, all rich wood grains and polished metals. The chairs in the lobby are likely as expensive as they are uncomfortable. It feels like a playground for people comfortable with privilege. So it comes as no surprise that Aubrey “Drake” Graham and his crew are staying here while in ATL, and it’s hard to blame him for feeling entitled: After all, he did help usher in an entirely new sensibility in hip-hop. It’s not the singing that makes him special—MCs have been crooning for years. What puts Drake in a different space than rappers past and present has less to do with his music than how he found himself in a position to make it. He doesn’t represent traditional hip-hop in any form or fashion. There were no obstacles to his success; far from a statistic, he caked off as a child star on a soft-ass show (Degrassi: The Next Generation). He’s Canadian, which as we all know did wonders for the careers of Maestro Fresh Wes and Kardinal Offishall. And he’s Jewish! Scope those stats on paper and rap celebrity seemed destined to elude Drake. Yet, the Toronto kid made it work. But how? Read more »
I decided to switch R&B Wednesday up a bit and throw some songs up that feature both hip-hop and R&B in them. We featured a B.o.B. song a few weeks ago and here he is again with his official first single “Nothin on You” off his upcoming album. Also check out Drake and Colin Monroe’s “Runaway Girl”. Enjoy your Wednesday YPs!!!
Royce Da 5′9″ brand new album “Street Hop” drops in stores today. I’ve personally been looking forward to this album for a while now. Check out the first single “New Money” and make sure you go out and support if you’re a fan.
Here’s a brand new song by Timabaland featuring Drake called “Say Something” off Timbaland’s upcoming album “Shock Value 2″. Apparently this is an unfinished version as there is only one verse by Drake so far. Expect the full song soon.
I been a little Drake heavy with the music posts lately but he’s been dropping new music so I gotta post it. Not sure where these songs are appearing but check them out.
“Just say yes not no/The club is overrated baby let’s not go/ Let’s stay home and burn a couple calories/ (Mess) the house up and make the maid earn her salary/ I’ll cook you dinner if you cook me breakfast/ They say nobody’s perfect but you look perfected/ I’d really love to be the one you took a step with/ So trust me when I tell you it’ll be worth the effort”
Drake’s “So Far Gone” mixtape is going to be available in stores and via iTunes on Sept. 15th. Here is a brand new song “Fear” that will be included with the other songs off the original mixtape. Enjoy.
“This is me, still the same/ they want the hits, I play the game/ No Auto-tune but you can feel the pain/ it all comes spilling out like I hit a vein”
“….the honesty in my music has left me too exposed/all my old friends think i got a new crowd/ and people seem to notice everytime I do smile/ I guess that mean it comes few and far between/ even though I’m living out what you would call the dream”
