Outkast’s often overlooked and underrated memeber, Big Boi, is dropping his new solo album Sir Lucious Left Foot….next month. While Big is often in Andre 3000’s shadow, he has been putting out some great music lately. This song may not be featured on his new album due to his former record label trying to block the Andre 3k guest appearance. In any event check out some new music featuring both members of the legendary group Outkast.
In preparation for his upcoming debut album Finally Famous, Big Sean is dropping his third mixtape entitled Finally Famous Vol. 3: B.I.G hosted by DJ Don Cannon. Check out the song “High Rise” below and be on the lookout for the mixtape this summer and the album this fall.
YPRichB: Check out this Complex Magazine interview with one of my favorite up and coming rappers, Big Sean. Here he discusses growing up in Detroit, his debut album Finally Famous, and working with Kanye and Pharrell.
Big Sean has been patiently waiting for his chance to live up to his name. The Detroit native has already made career-related leap and bounds joining the G.O.O.D. Music family in ’07 after impressing Kanye with a freestyle at a local radio station and landing a spot on Def Jam’s roster the following year. But it wasn’t until last year that his rhyming skills began earning him the proper praise he deserved. Sean’s been cranking out impressive cuts like “Supa Dupa” for himself while owning other people’s songs with his 16’s, like on Chip Tha Ripper’s “Fat Raps”
He’s slowly but surely winning over those who’ve taken the time to listen to his material, chock-ful of braggadocios bars and witty punch lines. His addition to XXL‘s “Freshman 10” last month is the latest accolade the young man has accumulated. Complex had a chance to chop it up with the jovial 22-year-old at the Def Jam offices about everything from the origin of his nickname to what keeps him motivated on a daily basis to what’s going on with his highly anticipated debut.

Wale is back with a remix for “Pretty Girls” off his debut album Attention Deficit. I really feel like his record label dropped the ball on his album and this song in particular. I’m not quite sure why it wasn’t as big as a hit as I’d thought it would be. Either way, Wale is pushing forward and has remixed the song with Fabolous and Chris Brown helping out. Enjoy.
Every year the rap magazine XXL does a magazine feature on the “Freshman” or new rappers to be on the lookout for. Being a huge music lover I’m always excited to find new talent that has a chance to do some damage in the music industry. XXL is usually hit or miss with their selections, some have become favorites of mine while others have came and went. This year’s list includes some promising rappers, some of which we’ve featured on our site. The 10 Freshman for 2010 are as follows:
Big Sean, J. Cole, Fashawn, Donnis, Nipsey Hu$$le, Pill, Freddie Gibbs, OJ Da Juiceman, Jay Rock, and Wiz Khalifa.
YPBlogspot are huge fans of J. Cole and Big Sean so my money is definitely on them to be the successes off this list. I’ve also just got into ATL rapper Pill who reminds me of T.I. so I’m keeping a close eye on him too. Check out the mixtape featuring brand new songs and freestyles by the Freshman class of 2010. Enjoy.
Check out this new freestyle “Supa Dupa Lemonade” by Big Sean. I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it once more, he’s a beast and this freestyle shows it. Enjoy.
YPRichB: Check out Big Sean’s interview with Hiphopofficial.com where he talks about his upcoming mixtape (due out in February) as well as his debut album “Finally Famous” due out later this year. Big Sean also shares his experiences working with Kanye and what to expect from the album.
If you’ve been visiting the site then you know Big Sean is one of the artist that we feel is destined for success. Check out the video for “A Million Dollars” off his last mixtape “UKNOWBIGSEAN” and be on the lookout for his album “Finally Famous” dropping this year.
The Clipse have been consistenly putting out good music since they’ve arrived on the scene. Although their record sales don’t match their acclaim, they are still putting out great music. Check out the video for “Freedom” off their latest album “Til the Casket Drops”.
I’ve been hearing about Mike Posner for about a year or so but am still pretty slow getting to his music. From what I’ve heard I can definitely hear the talent. In addition to singing he also produces. Him and Big Sean seem to have a lot of chemistry (pause) as they’ve collaborated on a few tracks together. Check out “Speed of Sound” featuring Big Sean off his mixtape with Clinton Sparks “One Foot Out the Door”.

YPRichB: For a music lover like myself the internet is definitely a great resource because it exposes me to artists I wouldn’t normally hear otherwise. I remember hearing Big Sean on a Kanye West mixtape a few years ago on a song called “Getcha Some” but after that I didn’t hear much from him. Fast forward 2 years and I ran across his mixtape “Uknowbigsean”. Needless to say I was very impressed. I truly think Big Sean has the potential to make an impact in the rap world. Check out his profile below and some of my personal favorite songs by him. YPs you won’t be disappointed. Read more »
YPRichB: I recently gave Mario’s newest album “DNA” another listen and it’s definitely worth your time people. Check out what I think will be the next single off the album “Before I Said Hi” featuring Big Sean. The YPs are huge Big Sean fans so mark my words when I say he’s next up. He’s signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music label and should be dropping his debut album “Finally Famous” in 2010. Peep the song and let us know what you think in the comment section.
