I remember writing a blog titled, “To Master or Not to Master, That is the ?“ back in December of 2009. In that blog, I weighed the negatives, and positives about pursuing a masters, and I still struggle with those same questions to this day! I talked about leaning towards pursuing a masters, and I am proud of the fact that I am taking that chance on myself, instead of being easily content with my current situation. Fast forward to September 2010, and I will starting graduate school on the 1st. I was able to set a goal, and see it through. Even though I have yet to step foot in my first class, I am excited, but at the same time I am a bit hesitant of the unknown! But as readers of YPblogspot, we know we cannot fear the unknown, but embrace it and face it head on, which is what I intend to do. I would never have pictured myself in this position when I graduated from Rutgers College back in 05, but life as we all know can take unexpected turns.
“Life is like riding a bike. It is impossible to maintain your balance while standing still.” - Linda Brakeall
I believe that life is all about progression, and moving closer to goals that we set forth for ourselves. We all have different paths that we take in life, but we will not get anywhere if we are stagnant and standing still. Personally, I know that in grad school times will get tough, and I will be uncomfortable at times, but that is also why I am excited. My belief is that in my twenties, I have to invest in myself so that I can set-up my future for success. If I don’t work hard now, then it is going to be harder for me down the road. Through my doubts, and feelings of uncertainty, I plan on embracing change! I am going to keep it moving, prepare for the next phase in life, and give it 110%. By doing so, I am confident that everything will work itself out in my favor!
