Keep Positivity Around You!!!

Today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. My normal routine on Monday mornings is to hit the gym at 5:30am so it didn’t help that I only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night. I’ve never really been one to make excuses but I was very close to backing out on my workout today. Thankfully, the alarm was already set for 5am so once it rang I got up and got moving. Usually once I get to the gym I’ll get a burst of energy and that usually kicks my day off properly. For some reason though that didn’t happen. Me and my workout partners finished our workout and it actually went well but I still couldn’t get past this wall. I’m not sure if I just had too much on my mind from the days prior or if I was just in a funk but I was almost determined to let my day be a crappy one.

Once I got home and started to get ready for my work day I had some extra time on my hands so I turned on OnDemand and checked out my new favorite HBO show “How to Make it in America”. If you’re a fan of the hustle and trying to “make it” I highly suggest this show. It’s still early but from the first 3 episodes I can respect the story mostly because I feel like its the story of all YPs.   Immeadiately I start to feel better after checking out this show and getting some breakfast (leftover pizza).  Now that I’m up and about, I get dressed and start to feel better about the day.  I hop in the wheel (Toyota Camry, pray for me) turn up some Talib Kweli and hit the road.  Once I get into work I greet a couple co-workers who are in high spirits and it just lifts me up.  I received an uplifting text message and talked to YPDSing and he hit me with some more positivity.  With all this positivity going around there was no way I was gonna let this day be a waste.

Even though our days don’t always start out as planned, the negativity doesn’t have to carry on.  Usually when things aren’t going my way I try to do things I enjoy.  Whether its hitting the gym, watching TV, or listening to music, one of these things usually does the trick.  Although the gym didn’t work today I still pressed on and let other positive things around me lift me up.  Whatever your uplifting vehicle is, go to it, and hopefully it will help you avoid a bad day.  I really was determined to have a pity party today but luckily I had enough good going on around me that it snapped me back on track.  Keep positivity around you and allow yourself to be uplifted.  Stay on course YPs.

I should check out that series “How to Make it in America” sounds good- I’ll see whats up.

I’m sure blogging about it made you check your attitude too. Sometimes all we have to do is realize
