Forget-uary (February) is the 2nd month of the year in which we all come off the high of the New Year and we begin to settle back into our old ways which is typically bad thing or more of the same (no progression). Those New Year’s resolutions have been all but forgotten by what I like to refer to as Forget-uary because we either forget our resolutions we made a month ago. We forget these resolutions for one reason or another. Some forget because that New Year’s resolution probably required them to be outside of their comfort zone. But instead of making something uncomfortable (that will lead to progress and/or success) comfortable they probably decided to revert back to old habits for the sake of being comfortable (stagnant aka no progress). Others may have allowed one or two obstacles deter them from achieving the goals of their resolution instead of being determined to overcome those obstacles and achieve their goals in spite of obstacles.
I would like to challenge those individuals and myself to stick to the resolutions, self challenges, and/or behavioral changes we decided on at the beginning of 2010. Get back on course YPs because we should all be ashamed that it has only been a little over a month and we have already reverted back to old bad habits. Where’s that enthusiasm you had the first week of January? YPs lets hold each other accountable and encourage each other to commit to continuous improvement and growth regardless of your New Year’s resolutions, goals, and aspirations. Pick a family member(s), friend(s) and/or colleague(s) that you trust to be honest with you and hold you accountable for your actions and following through with achieving your goals. Re-commit YPs and achieve your goals regardless of how small or large they may be. And kudos to those that have not broken their resolutions.
Best Wishes, Blessings & Much Success,
