Flash.ing Lights
I bathe in the illumination of his light
flash capturing past pains, making them right
fingertips gently tighten loose bulbs of insecurity
when I am in his presence, I can simply be me.
still photos of his smile slip into my album of happiness
his heat exposes my dark room, warming every cold crevice.
the real he gives me never needs to be photo-shopped
genuine-ness in 3D, I pray it never stops.
I’ve seen instantaneous flashes of artificial lights
but always the wrong temperature of maturity, that never developed right.
he owns enough light to adequately expose my true photograph
the love he feeds me. the words he gives me. the way he makes me laugh.
he has become a creator in his own right
placing stars in the skies of my once dark nights.
if I could file away every smile he gave,
I would run out of albums in which to save.
His camera stole a pic of my heart
now he holds the key to my memory card.
friendship and love never felt so good like this
breathtaking slideshows play as my mind reminisce.
he often tells me he is a reflection of me,
but when I look in his eyes, I see past my own beauty
I hope to know him ’til our photo is tattered with age
yet the sparkle in our eyes always remain the same.
never felt this strongly about flash photography,
now every time I see a flashing light, I think of him & me.
