About four years ago I was working at a recreation center. Every day I would walk there from school or home. On a particular day I was about 100 feet from the entrance of the building when I heard someone say, “EY! EY YOU! YO GIRL! YA ASS IS FAT! YO! GIRL!” I just kept walking. After he finished his last word he noticed that I wasn’t going to budge to even give him the time of day, so he yelled out “B*TCH!”… So I stopped when I got to the door of my building and I looked at him in disbelief. He turned his head and kept doing what he was doing before I walked by, WAITING FOR THE BUS. When I got inside my job I wondered to myself, “Am I really a b*tch? For real? When did we ever meet for him to make such a judgment?” After a minute or two I brushed it off and went on about my life.

Personally I think that the word “b*tch”, in today’s usage, is beyond derogatory. I cannot stand the word. I do not play around and use it because I am not a bitch. Nor would I allow someone to call me a boorish name. My name is Janel. That is the name my parents gave me and that is what I go by. Now if you’re a part of my family you can call me Suezanna. Otherwise watch your mouth.

I know ‘girls’ that call one another bitches, “Hey b*tch… That’s my b*tch… B*tch come on!” I look at them as well in uncertainty.  I know gay men that use the word as well, “You better work bitch… B*tch please… I’m the Baddest b*tch!” Whether you are gay, straight, bisexual, woman, man, or a hermaphrodite using the word bitch is a unsophisticated and naïve word. It doesn’t matter what you think the word means to you, because your definition doesn’t matter. The word b*tch quarrels down to one thing and ONE THING only: a term for female canines, particularly amongst dogbreeders. The last time I checked I don’t bark, nor do I walk on all fours. I walk on two legs and I speak English. The only reason that the dictionary has broken the word b*tch down into lament terms is because “we” as humans allowed it to go that far. There are some girls that allow ‘boys’ to call them bitches, “That’s my b*tch.” The sad part is that they think it is okay and they repeat it back in the same fashion, “I’m his main b*tch.” When you have come to the point of calling and/or allowing yourself to be called such an ignoble word, then you have lost yourself. You are so much more than that. You are what you allow yourself to be.

I cannot tell you what to say because I have no control over you, but I do have control over what people call me. I would hope that as a woman and man that you would and will understand how much inhumanity and vulgarity this word brings.

   There are several posts out there about this, I think taking there reference could have made this post or article really informative. I am not saying this information is not good. But I must say that the information provided here was unique, but to make it more near to complete, supporting with other previous information will have been really good.
