[Intro: Sometimes love feels so good. Deep. Harmonious. Metaphorical. Just like poetry.]
Are You Poetry?
his rhythm is melodic, more so hypnotic – makes me feel exotically erotic
the rhyme he’s speaking is teaching and reaching the very depth of my soul
when I look into his eyes, I see miles of beauty, and I feel it be my duty
to be that beautiful one he describes and inscribes in each and every one of his lines.
to him, I am ears, eyes and open pores
ready to listen, see and soak up his written scores
scores of yesterday’s game and tomorrow’s play
where I am the main star and he always leads the way
I used to be afraid of love cause I thought it would sting,
but just like a bee’s honey – it can be the sweetest thing
it is his passionate paintings of peace that keep me in a silent trance
such a subtle sweet seduction that makes me want to touch myself and dance
so much emotion echoing in each enchanting enjambment
something so distinctive makes me feel this is heaven sent.
the indescribable becomes my reality – the intangible is his epitome.
he paints pictures of me using only his words
my intelligence and beauty adjectives, my love – the verb.
I live and breathe upon only the things he brings
I learn the melody and hum the bridge to the song he sings.
sometimes I laugh for the sake of laughing or cry for the sake of crying,
but I get the feeling that without him, I am slowly dying.
unable to express and exert this energy I hold inside,
would cause me to sink within myself and from the world I’d hide.
what’s the sense of being in a land where you’ll never be a citizen?
my question to you is, why can’t we simply fall in love again?
I say again for the feeling that once before – in another life – we were in love.
I want to grow with him, from the roots, turning into an evergreen tree,
so the leaves of my heart can read that I will ever be in love with poetry…
