Life is filled with up’s and downs, that you can sort of lose yourself in the process at times. A person may feel like giving up, and giving in, but when you really think about it, we have so much to be grateful for. As long as you are on this earth, you are able to change, do better, and become better. So embrace every new day, because life is short, and we only get one chance at it.

I very much agree with this article because, it talks about embracing what you do have instead of what you don’t have. If we look at life that way, we will be that much better off. It also talks about taking care of yourself, because when you look good you feel good. I just got a fresh cut, and put on a brand new sweater, with the button up underneath, so I am kinda feeling myself this morning. :) We all should feel the same way. Enjoy the article about how to improve your outlook on life, because we all need positive affirmations from time to time. Enjoy your day YP’s!

Your attitude has a big influence on how well things go for you in life. A person with a positive attitude will be able to make it through all of life’s challenges and learn from them. Someone with a negative attitude tends to get stuck in a rut and blunders through their challenges only to find the same situations repeating. You can improve your outlook on life in a few simple ways.

Tip #1: Be grateful (and smile!) – being grateful for what you have in life is one of the most powerful ways to influence your own attitude. We tend to dwell on the negative while we completely take the positive for granted. We don’t even think about it. Have you ever gotten something your really desired only to find yourself upset because something about it wasn’t quite right or working right away? We focus on the negative.

You can change this by thinking about how grateful you are. It can start with something as simple and child-like as being thankful for the food you eat. Even Ramen Noodles are better than nothing, and you can be grateful for that little packet of shrimp flavoring!

Have you ever noticed how children and adults with major disabilities are often very positive? They are positive because they don’t dwell on the fact that they can’t see, hear, or walk. They think about everything they’re grateful they can do.

Think about all the things you have in life. When you find yourself starting to frown or those complaints start running through your mind, stop and think about what you are grateful for. Keep thinking about everything that is good in your life – or even think about things that other people are doing that you’re grateful for, like stocking library shelves, reading to children, or taking care of animals at the Humane Society. Think about anything you’re glad you’ve got or that you’re glad someone else is doing.

Tip #2: Dress well and take care of yourself. I’m not saying that you need to go out and buy expensive designer clothing. But if you dress like a sloppy teenager, you’re probably not going to feel all that great about yourself.

Wear clothing that you like. If you need to expand your wardrobe slowly, or even get some help to do so, go ahead and do that. But wear clothes that fit you the way you like them to, and that you feel look nice on you. Baggy shirts and pants are probably not going to do anything to enhance your feeling about yourself – and if you feel like you’re a slob and bum, your outlook is not going to be all that bright.

Get up in the morning and take a shower. Brush out your hair, and put on some comfortable clothes in a style you like. Then stand up straight and go out into the world proud of who you are.

Tip #3: Learn and try new things. You will find yourself getting frustrated with life (and bored) if you constantly do the same old thing. Get out and try some new things every once in awhile.

Don’t let anyone else dictate what this will be. If you want to go and hike nature trails, or float down rivers, or go camping, go ahead and do that. If yoga classes and energy work is more your style, go for that. Learn to cook gourmet foods or how to build furniture.

Take classes in things you’re interested in, or read books. Go to your local library and check out books on any subject you’re interested in. Learn all you can. Read something every day.

You’ll find that as you look at the wider world around you, and take in more experiences, your outlook on life will become more positive. You’ll feel better about yourself because of all you accomplish. And you’ll see opportunities and excitement in places you wouldn’t have noticed before.

These tips will get you started with having a more positive outlook on life. You’ll find that as you take proactive steps towards improving your attitude that being happy and positive will become more and more natural. You’ll see success and improvement in all areas of your life as a result.
