I just arrived home from work on a Monday and I’m less than two hours away from the beginning of another workout week in the gym. I love Mondays for this reason alone especially since my workouts the past 2 weeks have seemed to be off or lacking continuity for one reason or another but I’m determined to get in a great week of workouts starting today. Today is my chest and triceps workout day and I’m going to hit it hard. I think I’m going to change it up a little bit and sit in the sauna for a couple of minutes then run a mile to warm up before I begin my chest and triceps workout today. My goal this week is to run at least 5 miles this week in addition to getting in a great week of uninterrupted workouts. I am also going to get in at least 1000 sit ups in the form of various ab moves. I’m setting the bar for a great week in the gym so I’m excited.
YPs I’m focused, determined and ready to get it done! Meet me at the gym if you ready to get it in and achieve your goals. I’m almost there(goals) but like Brandy said, “Almost doesn’t count,” so I’m turning the intensity level up and removing the ‘almost’ from in front of ‘almost there’. No more letting any distractions, excuses or whatever keep the ‘almost’ in front of my being where I want to be YPs. Look good, feel good, and be good YPs!!!

YPs, as I come to you today, it is march 8th, 2010 and I have on a polo short sleeved shirt and jeans. I have a jacket with me, but there is no need as of yet. It is a beautiful day outside. When I went to lunch, I had the windows down and my music going hard. There is something about good weather that just makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. The weather doesn’t particularly change anything that is going on in your life however, it helps with one’s overall mood. There’s nothing like spring and summer time.

Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary defines the word “b*tch”:
Main Entry: 1b*tch

Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English bicche, from Old English bicce
Date: before 12th century
1 : the female of the dog or some other carnivorous mammals
2 a : a lewd or immoral woman
b : a malicious, spiteful, or overbearing woman —sometimes used as a generalized term of abuse
3 : something that is extremely difficult, objectionable, or unpleasant
4 : complaint
About four years ago I was working at a recreation center. Every day I would walk there from school or home. On a particular day I was about 100 feet from the entrance of the building when I heard someone say, “EY! EY YOU! YO GIRL! YA ASS IS FAT! YO! GIRL!” I just kept walking. After he finished his last word he noticed that I wasn’t going to budge to even give him the time of day, so he yelled out “B*TCH!”… So I stopped when I got to the door of my building and I looked at him in disbelief. He turned his head and kept doing what he was doing before I walked by, WAITING FOR THE BUS. When I got inside my job I wondered to myself, “Am I really a b*tch? For real? When did we ever meet for him to make such a judgment?” After a minute or two I brushed it off and went on about my life.

YPs one of YPBlogSpot’s long time twitter supporters and little sister to YPs has decided to bless us with a blog regarding young women’s confidence issues. Confidence comes easy to some and not so easy to some but confidence can make or break a person. Men and women struggle with confidence/self-esteem issues for various different reasons but being a Young Professional woman coming into her own YPShaH decided to share her thoughts and views on confidence and I’m sure many women concur with her assessment. Check it out for yourself and share your thoughts and comments under this great read/guest blog by Miss Hanford.
I believe a lot of young women have a confidence issue. Although I don’t have low self-esteem, its definitely not where it should be. This is a topic that a lot of females I know don’t really like to touch. If they don’t have the self esteem they should they sometimes take the wrong approach in order to develop that esteem. For example, trying to get as much attention from guys as they possibly can (posting half naked pics on the web, going to the club half naked, & just Read more »

Good morning YP’s, and Happy Monday! It is our pleasure to introduce YPDianaMaeF, with her first of hopefully many blogs to YPBlogspot! She would like to share her insightful thoughts regarding a modern woman, healthy relationships, and diversity with YP’s everywhere. Enjoy the great read, and make it a great, productive day!
“What’s a Modern Man Without a Modern Woman?”
The very elusive saying, “Behind a good man, there’s a successful woman.” YPs, don’t you know it! In this day and age, women have certainly made milestone leaps in achievement. We’ve emerged from playing the roles of the wife, mother, and family caretaker. It’s evident this movement enables us to juggle both a successful career while maintaining a supportive family. No one said it would easy, but the modern women has certainly been keeping up to par with the opposite sex. This goes for all aspects in life: career, sports, politics, & education. The Modern Woman no longer feels that their only potential could be within the household. During this Oscar season, it’s reminiscent to say the supportive & leading roles are interchangeable in relationships. Read more »

Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.
Guillaume Apollinaire
YPs, this quote really hit home with me, because I find myself sometimes falling victim to the “pursuit of happiness.” Sometimes we get so wrapped up in what want to accomplish in life, that we don’t enjoy everything we have now. It is very important to work hard and pursue your dreams, but not to the point where you feel that you can only be happy once you’ve reached them. Each day is a blessing and we should treat them as such. It is most important to love, laugh and be peaceful, EVERYDAY!!! YPs let’s be thankful for what we have and live accordingly. YPs Stand Up!!!
