          Lately I’ve been having an attitude towards women that have been wearing leggings in replace of actual pants… Back in the 80’s, leggings were the “ish.” They disappeared for awhile, but made a comeback about three years ago. It’s nothing wrong with wearing leggings, but there is something wrong when you wear them incorrectly.

          The Copper Nike Foamposites have been out for damn near a month now and I remember hearing about their arrival during dinner at Red Lobster with my fiance and friends.  One of the couples we were dining with has a younger cousin that was so adament about having them that he was hounding them via calls and texts to buy them all throughout dinner.  If I was still in college or high school I would have probably been the same way so I decided to take a look at what all of the buzz was about.  I pull out my BlackBerry and google the “Copper Nike Foamposites” and there they were just as I remembered them, except the pair I had were royal blue but I this shoe is beautiful in any color so I was in love again. 

          The Nike Air Foamposite (Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway’s Signature shoe) is one of Nike’s most expensive shoes and one of it’s most popular as well.   I believe I paid $160 for my royal blue pair of Foamposites back in 2000 or [click to continue…]

Budget Cuts: Layoffs

          There is a meeting and the topic of discussion is “Budget Cuts” and who the budget cuts will affect then you realize they’re probably going to affect and include you.  The you is me and during the meeting my smile transformed into a serious look of concern.  Now I am just assuming that I will be apart of the budget cuts but with good reason.  Fact is, I do not have seniority and the budget cut will require people to be laid off thus I think I’m on the chopping block.  This is the second time in my short working career in which I thought I may be laid off.  If you’ve ever been through being laid off or thought you were going to be laid off then you know the feeling and series of thoughts that run across your mind.

          I’m thinking about all the bills, wedding expenses, YPBlogSpot expenses/ventures, and other obligations that require me to have a job to satisfy.  In addition, the fact that I have never been fired and/or out of work since I started working at the age of 16.  I’m the type that stays employed and when I leave one job I go directly into the next [click to continue…]
