Relationships: “Why Are You So Paranoid”

YPs, I’m coming to you today with a serious topic at hand. The most “negative” force in a relationship is TRUST or the LACK OF!!!! A lack of trust can come from a number of issues. There can be some issues from a previous relationship that causes one person to have trust issues. There can be some infidelity in the current situation. Sometimes it can be as simple as one party listening to their friends, fill their heads with a bunch of negative thoughts. All of these reasons can be legit reasons in one’s mind to become suspicious. Those reasons may plague many relationships, but what I want to talk about are “Phantom” reasons. Sometimes, one party may just really be paranoid and causing unnecessary problems for no reason.

Men and women have a different take on every event that takes place between them, but there is a such thing as being irrational. Coming to a point when logic just seems to leave the body and stupidity takes over, is what will send a relationship to the pits. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong wit a healthy argument every now and then, but there needs to be a LEGIT REASON. It seems sometimes that women, especially, need to argue in order to feel normal. If you do not trust your mate, then work that issue out with him/her, don’t just pick at every little thing because you feel you have a right to. Let me tell you all something, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO PICK A FIGHT FOR UNJUST INSECURITY ISSUES.

Mary McLeod Bethune: Great African Americans

Peace and Blessings YP’s

Time for another Black History moment: Mary McLeod Bethune. On this second day of February, let us not forget the women who paved the way for our generation! Born on July 10, 1875 in Mayesville, South Carolina, Mary McLeod Bethune ranks high among great women in America. The last of seventeen children of sharecroppers, Mary Bethune lifted herself from the cotton field to the White House as an adviser to the President of the United States. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was almost single-handily building Bethune-Cookman College  in 1923. With only one dollar and fifty cents, nerve and determination, she set out to build a school for the Blacks who were working in the railroad labor camps in Florida. Slowly the school emerged from old crate boxes and odd rooms of old houses near the Daytona Beach City Dump. Bethune served as the school’s president until 1942. Today Bethune-Cookman graduates thousands. In 1935, she received the NAACP Springarn Medal as a symbol of distinguished achievement. Also in 1935, President Roosevelt appointed her national director of the National Youth Administration’s Division of Negro Affairs. She died on May 18, 1955 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Her legacy lives on!

So What I Eat What I Want: I Workout

“If you don’t change your eating habits than it’s pointless to workout.”

Gentleman said this during a Sauna Talk session at my gym.

I love to workout YPs and I may not eat all that great all the time but I workout enough so that if I really choose, I can eat whatever I want.  I totally disagree with this guy but I use to have the same mentality but then I thought about the ignorance in his statement and beliefs that probably affect a lot of people struggling with their weight.  The statement above is apart of the American mentality and belief in instant gratification in a microwave society we live in.  People wake up and adopt, believe, and realize that daily and consistent progress is better than nothing mentality.  The statement above may apply to individuals with particular fitness and physique goals but working out and eating whatever you want or eating healthy is better than doing nothing and eating fattening foods.  YPs watch what you hear, listen to, and say because someone with limited motivation to workout has heard this statement and probably stopped working out, thus punching their ticket to being over weight, out of shape and/or unhealthy.  I have some advice regardless of your healthy or bad eating habits, get your behinds in the gym and do something.

Understand that everyone does not have the same goals when it comes to working out and eating habits.  In other words, if you’re working out to lose weight and/or get that six pack that many aspire to get then you may want to watch what you eat because eating healthy is conducive to achieving weight loss and six pack goals.  That means you might Read more »
