YPRuck:  YPs I would like to introduce YPReiGriff, a soon to be regular contributor to YPBlogSpot but that’s neither here nor there, Haiti needs us YPs.  As human beings it’s our duty to take care of our fellow man in a time of need.  Do your part YPs, no donation is too small because collectively all donations add up to big donations that will assist Haiti with their relief efforts.  YPReiGriff felt compelled to share her thoughts on the earthquake that has has crumbled the already fractured infrustructure of Haiti as well as killed and displaced the entire country.  In addition, she has provided some links for different organizations that we (YPs) can donate or help in any way.  Help Haiti YPs, be unselfish because bottomline anything we’re going through or have gone through, chances are it doesn’t compare to what the people of Haiti are going through!

Devastation. That is the only word that can describe what’s going on in Haiti at this moment. Thousands killed, many more with no food or running water, watching the news horrific images are stained across the screen. As I sit back and think of my college roommate, her entire family is from Haiti . I call her to make sure everything is alright “I can’t get in touch with anyone” was the first words when she answered her phone.  Millions of aid has been sent to the hardest hit city of Port-Au-Prince , but there is still so much more that can be done. I urge you young professionals please help if you can. There are many ways that you can help:

Most Popular Organizations
American Red Cross Doctors Without Borders Operation USA
Americares International Medical Corps OXFAM America
CARE International Rescue Committee Partners in Health
Catholic Relief Services Haitian Ministries Save the Children
Convoy of Hope MADRE UNICEF
Direct Relief International Mercy Corps World Vision Int’l

Even $5 is a world of help. You can text ”Yele” (via 501501) and the monies will be taken via you cell bill. For those that don’t know Yele is Wyclef Jean foundation. He has raised more than 40,000 via text messages to date.

As a Young professional I make it my business to do what I can. I ask that you do the same and help as well.

Jay-Z Interview

in Featured,YP Blogs

Love him or hate him Jay-Z’s influence on popular culture is undeniable. He’s definitely a trend-setter and a lot of people (young and old) look to him to see what’s popular. I personally am not the biggest Jay-Z fan but I do have a great amount of respect for him and his work. To be as successful as he’s been for over 10 years is no accident and he’s still one of the best rappers around. Check out his interview with “Interview” Magazine where Jay-Z talks about various topics such as his influence, meeting presidents, and why his latest album “Blueprint 3″ was his most difficult able to make. Click on the Link below to check it out.
