YP’s, I don’t think that I am alone on this topic. I think everyone’s mind races randomly at some point in their lives. Mine just happens to work like this on a day to day basis. My favorite rapper, Joe Budden, made a song called “Sidetracked”. When this song came out, it easily became one of my favorites. It was just a song that I could relate to, in an unbelievable way. The song detailed a day in the life of a human mind. It described how one’s brain jumps from topic to topic sometimes, with no warning. I related completely, because my mind is constantly going.

Snoop Dogg feat Jay-Z-I Wanna Rock G Mix

I have to say that new Snoop album “Malice in Wonderland” was actually really good to me. I’ve always like Snoop but didn’t really start listening to his albums (excluding his debut) until “The Blue Carpet Treatment”. The original “I Wanna Rock” is a CRAZY record. The beat is hypnotic and Snoop definitely does his thing. Well this time around Jay-Z decided to jump on it and remix the record with a brand new verse from Snoop. Check out the “I Wanna Rock” G Mix featuring Jay-Z.
Statik Selektah feat Bun B, Colin Munroe, and Wale- So Close, So Far

I’m not sure how I caught on to Statik Selektah’s music but for those unfamiliar he’s a DJ/producer and he’s dropped two albums (“Spell My Name Right” and “Stick to the Script”) prior to his upcoming album “100 proof” due out in February. His albums were really dope to me and I’m definitely feeling this new single “So Close, So Far” featuring Bun B, Colin Munroe, and Wale.

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.
Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan “press on” has solved
and always will solve
the problems of the human race.
- Calvin Coolidge, U.S. President
I’ve definitely read my share of quotes and poems regarding success, and one word that is often repeated is “persistence”. Persistence is the action or fact of persisting. Successful individuals don’t just have one great moment, it is constantly striving and taking little steps to achieve greatness. You could be the smartest person, but if you do not put in the effort and do anything with it, then nobody will see your intelligence . You could be the most talented basketball player, but if you don’t put in the effort in the weight room or in perfecting your jump shot, then sooner or later, your talent will be awash. You can have a great business idea, but if you do not get the ball rolling, then the great idea will go to waste.
I’ve learned that success doesn’t just happen in one day, or one week; it is numerous acts. It might be waking up every morning studying, lifting weights, writing, practicing singing, planning, etc. So YP’s, keep on pushing, and striving for what you want in life, because at the end of the day, it is really up to you, and how bad you want it!

I was determined to get my first week of 2010 off on the right foot. I ironed my clothes for the work week and I had a fresh cut courtesy of my barber in Philly so you know I had to throw a tie on all week. I figured I would dress to impress all week and on top of that I planned on getting back into my cardio workouts again in combination with my weight lifting to reach my physique goals faster. We (YPs that is) always talk about the fact that we may not be models or professional athletes but that doesn’t mean we can’t look like one so we or should I say, I am so focused on getting my body right. In addition, my fiance has made me commit to working out with her twice a week. I also knew I had a lot of work to catch up on after being out so long but I was actually excited about it going back to work. I basically had [click to continue…]
