You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.
       - Eleanor Roosevelt

YPs, you know that our whole motivation and aim is to empower YoungProfessionals.  Well this quote is what some of us need to hear in order to empower ourselves.  We can only look to others but for so much.  At some point we need to look within and get our own motors going.  We need to believe in ourselves and our abilities.  We are our biggest doubters sometimes and that has to change in order for progression to take place. Look into the eyes of your biggest fears and overcome them.

It may be hard to believe but many people are afraid of success.  Some feel like it is easier to be mediocre and it will take too much to be successful.  To be successful, you have to do the things that most are uncomfortable doing.  You have to build up your inner confidence and do the things in which you previously thought you could not do.  Almost nothing is impossible.  Treat your life as such.  Challenge yourself to be great and have the confidence to know that all will end up well.  YPs Stand Up!!!

Skillz: 2009 Rap Up

Skillz has done it again by putting together his annual year end rap up of what happened the year before.  If you’re not familiar with Skillz, he’s one of the most under appreciated and underrated rappers that has been putting out good hip-hop music for years.  He’s a ghost writer and has ghost written for some of your favorite rappers so get familiar with him (Google Skillz) if you’re not because he’s definitely one of my favorite MCs to pick up a mic and put pen/pencil to paper with his wordplay and lyricism displayed in his music.  Now I know we all had our ups and downs in 2009 and celebrities are not immune from ups and downs either so enjoy Skillz’s “2009 Rap Up” as he takes us down memory lane of the ups and downs of 2009 within the entertainment and music industries along with any and all scandals that took place this past year.  Enjoy YPs and let’s just laugh at our ups and downs of 2009 then move forward amicably into 2010.
